The Obit says:

Dr. Max Bernard David Apfeldorf, 71, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday in City Hospital. He was the son of the late Jonas and Helene Hand Apfeldorf. He was a graduate of City College of New York and received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina. He was employed as a clinical psychologist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a member of the Beth Jacob Synagogue, where he served as president for 40 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis, served as a board member for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters and was active in many business and professional organizations. He leaves his wife, J. Winifred Meldrim Apfeldorf, at home; two daughters, Wendy E. Robinson of Martinsburg and Dr. Karyn M. Apfeldorf of Austin, Texas; one son Michael G. Apfeldorf of Shepherdstown; one brother, Erwin Apfeldorf of New York City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Brown Funeral Home, with Rabbi Charles P. Rabinowitz officiating. Interment will be in Beth Jacob Cemetery. Memorial contributions to: Beth Jacob Synagogue, 126 W. Martin Street, Martinsburg.
