Laurel Leader Call Tommy Callahan, 78, of Laurel, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at his residence.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Tuckers Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery in Jones County. The Revs. Eddie Bryant and Gerald Sawyer will officiate.
A loving father, grandfather and a friend to many, he was a retired poultry farmer for Sanderson Farms and was a member of Tuckers Crossing Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by is parents, John and Jewel Lewis Callahan.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Montgomery Callahan of Laurel; a son, Randy Callahan of Laurel; his beloved pet, Maggie; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Robert Allred of Laurel; a brother, John Lewis Callahan of Pace, Fla.; and two grandsons, Brett Allred and Johnathan Callahan.
Pallbearers will be Robert Allred, Brett Allred, Dale Presley, Harvey Barnes, David Porter and Mack Tucker.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, which is in charge of arrangements
