BELL Robert J ., was born June 19th, 1920 in New York City and attended Stuyvesant High School and New York City College. As a young man, he coordinated the multiple survey crews for the building of La Guardia Air Field in New York. During WWII, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers and in Army Intelligence. His skills were recognized and allowed him to rise quickly through the ranks from private to Major. He coordinated logistical planing in the invasion of Leyte and Okinawa. After the war, heMassachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company for more than twenty-five years. He was also a Certified Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, an Enrolled Actuary, Life member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He was the past president of Oklahoma City Life Underwriters Association. Bob was an active volunteer for many years for the Oklahoma Lung Association and served as President and on the Board of Directors. He was a life long member of the Episcopal Church and served as Lay Reader, Vestryman and Treasurer of All Souls Church. He has been married to Mary Ellen Richmond for 50 years and is survived by her and their three children, Gaylen and her husband, Terry Jones of Nevada, MO, Robert R. Bell of Oklahoma City, OK, and Gina K. Jones and her husband, Lee M. Jones of Edmond, OK; three grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Casey and Corbett Jones; niece, Marcia Richmond Anderson and nephew, Mark Richmond, CA. His life was characterized by a deep, abiding, enthusiastic love for his family, friends, his church, his country and his work and his family will miss him. Services will be held Saturday, June 13, 11:00 a.m., at All Souls' Episcopal Church. Family has requested no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to All Souls' Church or Alzheimer'sAssociation.
