He was the son of Jack and Evelyne (Jones) Bath Sr. He married Shirlee JoAnn Harper on Sept. 22, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lewistown, Ill. She preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2011.

He was also preceded by his parents.

Surviving are two daughters, Shirlee Lynn (Skip Ferguson) Cassidy and Evelyn Kaye (Roger) Pillow; two grandsons, Douglas and Byron Pillow; one brother, Kenneth (June) Bath; and two nephews, Tom (Sheila) Bath and Jay Bath.

He attended Culver Military Academy and was part of the Black Horse Troop.

Jack attended Knox College and graduated from Bradley University. While still in school, he worked at Rex Studio and Camera Shop in Peoria.

He was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, serving from 1953 to 1981. During his career he was stationed in Marianna, Fla.; Wethersfield, England; Macon, Ga.; Harrisburg, Pa.; Ramstein and Wiesbaden, Germany; Dayton, Ohio; San Antonio, Texas; and Colorado Springs, Colo.

After retiring he managed the shooting complex at the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo.
