John Willis Cooper, 84, died Monday, August 12, 2013 surrounded by his family at Harbor Chase of Aiken.
A native of New Boston, OH, Mr. Cooper was a son of the late Willis and Mary Susan Psimer Cooper.
He grew up in Olive Hill, Ky and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the World War II era. He was a retired truck driver with Commercial Motor Freight after 18 years service. He was of the Jehovah's Witness faith and loved to read the bible. He was a hard worker and loved gardening year round. He was always proud of his large tomato crops.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Beulah M. Cooper; 2 sisters, Colleen Cooper Jordan and Joyce Cooper Jordan; a brother, William Paul Cooper and a great-grandson, Jacob Aaron Cooper.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Carolyn Cooper Frazier (Max), Louisa, KY, Mary Cooper Webb, Olive Hill, KY, Madonna Cooper Cook (Bill), Aiken, SC; 3 sons, John Allen Cooper (Christine), Willard, OH, Stanley Ray Cooper, Mansfield, OH, Arlie Cooper, Mansfield, OH; 2 stepsons, Roger Qualls (Grace), Mansfield, OH, Ercel E. Littleton (Charlotte), Newton, NC; a sister, Alice Cooper Reeder, Mansfield, OH; a brother, Joseph Cooper, Mansfield, OH; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Globe Funeral Chapel, Olive Hill, KY. Interment will follow in Webb Cemetery with Military Honors.
