Mrs. Lillie Mae Gamble, 85, died Tuesday, September 22, after an extended illness.

Born in Morgan County, November 15, 1895, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Samantha Smith Wright.

She was a resident of Flat Gap and a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Gamble, August 3, 1956.

Survivors include five sons, Lonza Gamble, Springfield, OH, Jack Gamble, also of Springfield, Ossie L. Gamble of Beauty, Simon Gamble, Franklin, OH and Jessie B. Gamble of Columbus, OH.

Other survivors include four daughter, Betty Cox, Red Bush, Marvie Brewar, Flat Gap, Viola Gillem, Franklin, OH, and Mattie Jane Young of Columbus.

Also surviving are two brothers, Noah Wright, Sand Lick, and Walter Wright, Morehead, 52 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 25 at the Flat Gap Enterprise Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Salyer officiating.

Burial followed in the Jaynes Cemetery at Flat Gap.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
