Richard ‘Elden' Allen

Former Chinese Camp resident Richard "Elden" Allen died Feb. 8 at his home in Elk Bend, Idaho. He was 75.
Born in Chinese Camp to Arthur and Molly Allen, he grew up there and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953. He served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1962.
He retired in 1991 and moved to Elk Bend, Idaho, with his wife, Claudia.
He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, hunting and gardening.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Claudia Allen, of Elk Bend, Idaho; children and stepchildren, Jeff and wife Kathy Allen, of Sonora, Kathy "Sissy" Zehner, and Belinda and husband Tim Allen, all of Artley, Ala., Mike and wife Lori Regli, of Elk Bend, Idaho, Von and wife Leslie Regli, of Woodland Hills, and Skip and wife Becky Regli, of Odessa, Wash.; sisters, Joan Hofman, of Sacramento, Wanda and husband Odie Albertson, and June Peterson, all of Chinese Camp; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Molly Allen; three brothers; and one sister.
A graveside service is scheduled sometime in the spring or summer. He will be buried in the Chinese Camp Cemetery.
