Muriel Dorothy Buckholtz, 93, of rural Mapleton, died May 22, 2020 at her home.

A private family service and burial will take place at Beauford-Morrow Cemetery in rural Mapleton. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Muriel Dorothy (Anderson) Buckholtz was born on May 26th, 1926 in Good Thunder to Ole and Frances Anderson. She married Phillip Buckholtz of Mapleton, MN at the Community Parsonage in Good Thunder on August 2, 1943. Muriel farmed with her husband for over 60 years. She loved to quilt and work in her flower and vegetable gardens. She gave her heart to Jesus Christ in her early 20s. Two visiting pastors stopped by their home and explained sin, forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ. That day Muriel knew she needed Jesus. John 1:12 But to as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe in His name.

Muriel is survived by three daughters, Judy (Stan) Rempel of Mt. Lake, MN, Margaret Duerksen of Delft, MN, and Suzanne Sommer of Mapleton, MN; one son, Larry (Frances) of Mapleton, MN; and 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Bunde; three brothers, Bennard, Orville and Hanford; and two sons-in-law, Robert Sommer and Eugene Duerksen.
