Burton Joseph Dugan, 29, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012. He was born may 19, 1983 in Yuma.

He enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, playing softball, basketball, listening to music, swimming and other traditional games. He also like to give back to his community, he was a National Forest Volunteer Firefighter, and a part of the Cocopah emergency evacuation resue team member.

Burton is survived by his wife, Leatrice Tourtillott; daughter, Alora Dugan; mother, Harriet Phillips; father, Kirby Dugan, Sr.; brothers, Brandon (Lorraine) Phillips, and Kirby (Selena) Dugan, Jr.; sisters, Lorena Tambo, and Angelene (Enrique) Cabrales; uncles, Wallace (Eileen) Dugan, Sr., Dale Phillips, and Larry Phillips; aunts, Cheryle Dugan, Dena Dugan, Bridgette (Wilfred) Miller, Mary Dugan, Winifred Hayes, Lorelei Phillips, and Rhonda Begay; great-uncles, Joseph Nerva, William Allsup, Eugene Jim, Pedro Jim, Jr., Eric (Sheila) Jim; great-aunts, Marianna Bobtail, Mary Elen Keyoite, Sarah (Charles) Sams, and Veronica Colon, as well as numerous cousins, neices, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wallace Dugan, Sr., and Esther Thomas; maternal grandparents, Harry and Deloria Phillips; uncle, Harry J. Phillips, Jr.; step-father, Bennett Miller; paternal great-grandparents, John Dugan, and Janice Burnham Garcia; paternal great-great-grandfather, Thomas Dugan.

A visitation will be held at Yuma Mortuary Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at Yuma Mortuary from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and June Stillings will be officiating. Tribal rites will follow at the Quechan Big House in Fort Yuma Reservation from 5:00 P.M. Saturday, June 23, 2012 with cremation at 5:00 A.M. Sunday, June 24, 2012.

Pallbearers will be Kirby Dugan, Jr., Austin Dugan, Enrique Cabrales, Sean Johnson, Bosephus Brown, Abraham Velarde, Darin Hayes, Noah Barley, Varian Kelly, and Lindsey Kelly.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kirby Dugan, Sr., Brandon Phillips, Wallace Dugan, Jr., Dominic Dugan, Damien Dugan, Christman Tambo, Sergio Tambo, Alexander Gates, Dale Phillips, John Tourtillott, Harry J.
