COLUSA MAS RECOVERING
COLUSA (Colusa CO.), Jan. 16 - The condition of Orlando BURROWS of Stoneyford, who was operated upon in the Merritt hospital, Oakland, last Thursday, is greatly improved.
Burrows had a bad attack of typhoid fever some years ago, from the effects of which he has never fully recovered. It was found that he had a typhoid rib, or diseased bone, which had to be removed, and an immediate operation was deemed necessary to save his life. A portion of two ribs was removed, and it is believed that he will speedily recover.
The 1880 US Federal Census enumerated the Burrows household in Newville, Colusa Co., CA as R.G. age 46, and Charlotte 40. The children listed were Eli E. 17, Annie S. 15, Ida 13, Ira A. 11, and Orlando A. 24, daughter-n-law Mary A. 19, grandson Leo R. 2, and Ansy C. Burrows who was 6. (Ancy or Aura Crable was the son of R.G. and Charlotte).
R.G. was a farmer and was born in Indiana. Charlotte was born in Illinois. Orlando was a farmer and born in Oregon. The rest of the children were born in California. Orlando's wife was born in Nevada.
