I.A. Burrows Dies At Home Near Newville

Ira Ancil Burrows, native son of the Newville country and prominent sheep grower of the state, died at his home within one mile of his birthplace early yesterday morning. Mr. Burrows suffered a heart attack a week ago and took a turn for the worse the first of this week.
Within a mile of his last home, Ira Ancil Burrows was born on his father's ranch near Newville on October 19, 1870. He was married on December 25, 1899, to Lena Owen and is survived by his widow and three children, Mrs. Emma Walker of Mill Valley, Beatrice Burrows of Needles, and Marion Burrows of Chrome. Three sisters also survive him as well as one brother, Mrs. Elo Millsap of Orland, Mrs. Mary Millsap of Chrome and Mrs. Ida Jameson of Santa Cruz, and Aura Burrows of Chrome. Mr. Burrows was a member of the Odd Fellows and Masons and a lifelong member of the Christian Church.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at eleven at the Millsap cemetery, Rev. Saxby of Willows officiating. - Transcribed by M.

I.A. Burrows, 71, Newville Sheepman Died Yesterday

Graveside funeral rites will be held at the Chrome cemetery Saturday morning at 11 o'clock for I. A. Burrows, well known Newville sheepman who died at his home yesterday morning following an illness of several weeks.
Newville was a native of the Newville section having been born but a mile from the site where he died. He was 71 years of age. For years he has been one of the most widely known sheepmen in the valley.
Surviving are his wife, three children, Mrs. Ermine Walker of Mill Valley; Beatrice Burrows of Needles and Marion Burrows of Chrome and by three sisters, Mrs. Elo Millsaps of Orland, Mrs. Mary Millsaps of Chrome and Mrs. Ida Jameson of Santa Cruz and a brother Aura Burrows of Chrome.
Rev. H. S. Saxby will officiate at the service. - Transcribed by E.
