Raymond Black

Raymond Black, 77, of 42 Bryson Mill Road died at 10:57 p.m. on July 30, 1990, at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born in Volant on Jan. 13, 1913, he was a son of Robert and Laura G. Black. He married the former Catherine Emily Lumley on June 30, 1936 and she survives. Mr. Black retired in 1977 from Crucible Steel in Midland after 18 years of service. He belonged to Clifton Flats Alliance Church. Other survivors include a son, Norman R. of New Castle; two daughters, Jean Parker of Franklin and Elaine Callahan of New Castle; a brother, Roy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald. Calling hours are tomorrow and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home of Leesburg. Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. M.E. Nicholson, pastor of Clifton Flats Alliance Church. Interment will be in North Plain Grove Cemetery, Plain Grove Township.
