Beulah E. Sayers, age 79, of Duluth, Minnesota
and formerly of Town of Levis, Clark County,
Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, April 2,
2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
She was born on January 25, 1936 to John and Nora (Red Horn) Thompson, in Dells Dam, Town of Levis, Clark County, Wisconsin.
Beulah was raised in Dells Dam area before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota, where she was united in marriage to Phillip Sayers on May 17, 1969. Together they lived in St. Paul for several years, and then in 1979 they moved to Duluth.
Beulah enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo, bowling, rummage and thrift sales, attending her kids and grandchildren sporting events, and most of all spending time with her family. She had a great influence in volunteering and helping with Indian Education, at all levels.
Beulah is survived by her children, Susie (Pete Greenlee) Sayers, Phyllis (Tim) Pohl, Nora (Beau) Bledsoe, Phil Sayers, Joyce, Dan, Ted Thompson, Paula, and June; grandchildren, Andrea, Noah, Jarrod, Hilary, Emily, Riley, Cadel, Betsy, Audry, and Dale and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, granddaughter, Ashley Pohl, parents, John and Nora, siblings, Myrle Thompson, Katherine Decorah, Lindley Thompson, Herschel Thompson, Sylvia Kingswan, Preston Thompson, John Thompson, Carver Thompson, Ralph Thompson, Freeman Thompson, and an infant sister.
Traditional Native American funeral services were held Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 12:00 noon, at the Dells Dam Community Center, W7015 Bush Road, Dells Dam, Wisconsin. Dennis Funmaker presided over services. Burial followed in Dewey Mike Indian Cemetery.
