Kelly Sager, 55, of Lake City, passed away Sept. 5, 2009, at her home.
Kelly was born Aug. 16, 1954, in Tulsa, Okla., to Manford and Joan (Kelly) Wirges. She attended high school in New Jersey. She attended college and graduated from Georgia Tech with a master's degree in engineering. She moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where she worked for John Deere as an engineer for 20 years.
She married James Sager on July 2, 1988, in New Hartford, Iowa. The moved to Lake City in 1997. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bittersweet Garden Club, and was a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed golf, quilting, tending to her flower garden and spending time with her family.
Kelly is survived by her husband, James, of Lake City; her step-daughters Mary (Ron) Puls, Donna (Jim) Peterson, and Carolyn (John) Bereczki, all of Gladbrook, Iowa; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; an aunt, Fran (Robert) Mannix, of Tulsa, Okla., and an uncle, John (Lori) Kelly, of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City with the Rev. Richard Dernek officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
