Ellis Fuller Beall, age 88, passed away May 15, 2009. He was born in Durant, OK on Sept. 28, 1920 to Zack & Beatrice Beall. He married Geneva McAdoo on July 3, 1943. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a Master Sergeant in the US Marine Corp. Ellis went to work for Mobil Oil Corp. in 1954 & retired from the Accounting Dept., with 28 years of service, in 1982. He graduated from Okla. City Univ. with a degree in Business in 1966. He was honored with the Outstanding Leadership Award by the Air Force Assoc. He was a member of the Capitol Hill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers & 1 sister. Mr. Beall is survived by his wife of 65 years, Geneva daughter, Sharon Edwards & husband, Billy of Wichita, KS grandson, Christopher Edwards & wife Debra of Salina, KS 3 great-grandsons: Brandon, Casey & Cooper Edwards and by several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Friends may view at the funeral home from 12 Noon-8 PM today. Services to celebrate his life will be held 10:00 AM Monday, May 18, 2009, at Capitol Hill Baptist Church, 304 SW 134th St.

From the book, "The Fighting Men of Oklahoma." SSGT Ellis F. Beall was born Sept. 28, 1920 at Durant and attended Cyril High School and Anadarko Business College. He enlisted in the service at El Paso TX on Oct. 6, 1942 and received Tank Corps training at Camp Pendleton CA. SGT Beall served 28 months in the Pacific Theater at Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Guadalcanal, Russells, Pearl Harbor, Saipan, Tinian and Guam. He served as battalion personnel NCO with the 4th Tank Bn. of the 4th Marine Div. and participated in the battle of Iwo Jima. He received his discharge on Nov. 3, 1945.
