Willis Barr, Sr. 91 (b. 26 Jul 1906) died Wednesday (10 Dec 1997) at the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup after an illness.

A native of Waycross, he had lived in Nahunta for many years. He was a son of the late Lawrence Barr and Florence Gamble Barr.

He was a member of Nesby Chapel United Methodist Church in Nahunta where he served as steward.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosa Barr Shelly of Vero Beach, FL; a son, Willie Barr, Jr. of Vero Beach; a brother, Robert Lee Barr of Trenton, NJ; one grandchild, Brenda Saintelus of Fort Pierce, FL; a nephew, Frank Barr (wife Pat) of Waycross; five great grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, from the Nesby Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marcelle G. Myers officiating.

Interment followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Waynesville.

Fluker Funeral Home of Waycross was in charge of arrangements.
