Marion Ray Hess, son of Ray Marion Hess and Sylvia Belle Primmer on October 1, 1934 on the Wally Shinn Farm west of Creston. At the age of four his family moved to a farm near Arispe. He graduated from the Arispe High School in 1953. Marion stayed on the family farm until 2004. During this time he farmed and worked as a locksmith, drove school bus for East Union School, worked for Schildberg Construction and also worked as a security guard. Marion lived in Diagonal from 2004 until January of 2006 when he went to the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr. Marion was a Union County Posse Member and served on the Sandcreek Township Cemetery Board.
Marion is survived by two sisters; Arlene Scherer of Urbandale and Pauline (husband Dennis) Sweet of Shannon City and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Evelyn Seely.
