He was born Dec. 22, 1916, in Belgrade Location to Matt and Angeline (Zallar) Anzelc. He attended school in Gilbert and McKinley and was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Sarah Gillespie on July 16, 1949, in Grand Forks, N.D. He began working in the Mary Ellen Mine and later transferred to Reserve Mining Co. in Babbitt, working there as a shovel operator until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, the Biwabik Senior Citizens, Peterson-Lofquist-Bronczyk American Legion Post of Biwabik and the KSKJ Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah; son; daughter; brothers; sister; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Smith.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik.
