Lloyd W. Carlson. 63, of Route 2 New Ulm, died Friday, January 6, at Union HospitaI in New Ulm. He had been ill for about two weeks.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Clear Lake Baptist Church of Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery.
Lloyd Carlson was born August 8, 1903, in Severance Township, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Carlson. He grew up in rural Gibbon and attended rural public schools. On October 3, 1930 he married Lillian Bleck at Fairfax. About three years after their marriage they moved to the Lafayette community and lived there eleven and one-half years. The family moved to New Ulm in 1945 where he lived until the time of his death. He was a farmer his entire life.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Virginia) Hughes of Lake Crystal and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Dittrich of New Ulm; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Edgar Hoppenstedt of Minneapolis, Mrs. Philip Peterson of Steger, Ill, and Mrs. Vincent Peterson of Perz; and five brothers Phillip of Gibbon, Delphin and Burt of Lafayette. Jewell of Brookings, South Dakota, and Roger of Pennock.
