|Birth: ||Dec. 25, 1953|
|Death: ||Dec. 19, 2007|
William passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born the son of William G. Blodgett and the late Marjorie Spears Blodgett of Augusta. He graduated from Cony High School and Thomas College of Waterville with a degree in accounting and went on to graduate from Gordon Cornwell Seminary with a master's in divinity degree. On June 28, 1986, he married Sheila Fuller Quimby of Auburn, where they lived until moving to Richmond, Va., in 1997.
Bill was the accountant and later assistant director of the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine for 12 years. He moved to Richmond, Va., to work with the ministry to Eastern Europe, now called the Ministry To Educate and Equip (MTEE), serving as the assistant director for the ministry.
During this time he had opportunity to travel to Budapest, Hungary for meetings and missions work. He had a love for the Lord, a Mission's heart and a wonderful sense of humor that gave him great strength. In March of this year, Bill and Sheila returned to Maine to live and work and to be with family.
He is survived by his father, William G. Blodgett of Augusta; his loving wife, partner and best friend, Sheila, and their three loving stepchildren, Christopher Quimby and wife, Jennifer, of Richmond, Va., Cassandra Culleton and husband, Todd, of Nashua, N.H., and Gregory Quimby and wife, Jennifer, of East Winthrop; seven beautiful and devoted grandchildren, Mitchell Quimby, Kiersten, Alicia and Tyler Culleton, and Thomas, Jordan and Erin Quimby.
He was predeceased by his sister, Carol Francis Blodgett; and his mother, Marjorie Spears Blodgett.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors of the Nephrology Associates of Central Maine especially his doctors of many years, Dr. Candice Walworth and Dr. Cynthia DeSoi. We also wish to thank all the staff of the Hospice House for their care and support during this time.
