The old gentleman was apparently well on the Monday preceding his death, and was engaged during the day picking corn, but before midnight hour had chimed, his spirit had fled.
Mr. Becker was an old and repected citizen of Lucas county, having resided here for twenty-two years. He leaves a wife and six children, two daughters and four sons, all grown.
Two of the sons reside in Dakota and have been telegraphed but at his writing it is not known whether they will come to the funeral or not. The time of the funeral is fixed for today, when the remains will be laid away in Salem cemetery.
