| Birth: | Jul. 11, 1842 Amo Hendricks County Indiana, USA | | Death: | Jun. 16, 1913 Danville Hendricks County Indiana, USA | Son of Jesse M. and Ann (Carter) Hockett, who were members of the Friends church and came from North Carolina to Spring Meeting. Jesse and two of his children are buried in Spring Friends Cemetery. In 1870, Isaac was living with his mother and brothers in Clay Township and was listed as a farmer. In 1880 he was living in Clay Township with his brothers Jesse and Enoch (who is listed as insane). In 1900 and 1910 Isaac was living in the county farm. It is unknown how the son of prominent settlers ended up living and dying in the poor farm. Jesse died in 1884, so if Enoch really was insane, Isaac could have been left alone. However, his married brother Benjamin was still in the area as were probably other relatives.
