James Russell Reece age 90 of Edmonton died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was the son of late Rufus and Betty Strange Reece. Russell was a US Army veteran serving in the south pacific for a period of forty-five months during World War II. He was a life time farmer and member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church. He was also an active member of the Metcalfe County VFW Post. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Nell Boston Reece
He is survived by two daughters. Paula (Danny) Propes of Columbia, Kentucky. Annette (John) Hepner of Bowling Green. Four grandchildren. Jason (Donna) Propes of Elizabethtown. Eric (Katie) Propes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Kelly and Natalie Hepner both of Bowling Green. Three great grandchildren. Caleb, Dawson and Evan Propes. Five brothers. Ralph, Tommy, Billy and Bob Reece all of Edmonton. J.W. Reece of Louisville. Two sisters. Marguerite Sullivan of Edmonton and Martha Mitchell of Louisville. Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one brother Leon Reece.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
