Mrs. Barrier was born Sept. 8, 1926, to the late James Lee Moore and the late Ila Mae Blackwelder Moore.
She was a graduate of Winecoff High School. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Barrier worked for many years at Cannon Mills in the Winding Department. After retirement from Cannon Mills she worked in the cafeteria of Mt. Pleasant Elementary School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Georgia Beck of Spencer and Nettie Mae Eagle of Kannapolis; brothers, Everett Moore, Charlie Moore, Marvin Moore and Harlie Moore all of Concord.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, John W. Barrier of the home; sons, Ronnie L. barrier and wife Brenda of Concord and Leonard W. Barrier and wife Debra of Raleigh; grandchildren, Andrea Barrier Stone and husband Marlon of Concord, Charles A. Barrier, Sr. and wife Melissa of Pennington Gap, Va. and Amanda Barrier Drye and husband Mark of Concord; great-grandchildren, Dylan Stone and Lauren Stone of Concord, CJ Barrier and Andy Barrier of Pennington Gap, Va. and Madison Drye and Addie Drye of Concord; and sisters, Beulah Leigh and Lala Mosley of Concord.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home. AT other times the family will be at the home.
Service and Burial: Funeral services will be held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, of which she was a member, on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Miller and Rev. Gene Bost officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
