Deep River was greatly shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Wendell Phillips of Clear Lake, Tuesday morning. Mrs. Phillips will be remembered here as Miss Delva Axtell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Axtell.
Mrs. Phillips was only ill a few days when death came to end her
suffering. She was taken to the Park hospital at Mason City
where every thing was done to save her life.
Short funeralservices were held at their home Wednesday before the body of the young mother and her stillborn son were brought to the home of her parents. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Methodist church.
