Richard A. Enabnit, 70, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Marian Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Callender. Interment will be in the Callender Cemetery. The visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Richard is survived by his wife Pat; his children, Don (Lisa) Shunkwiler, San Diego, CA; Neal (Chris) Shunkwiler, Fort Dodge; Beth Gosselin, Fort Dodge; five grandchildren; a brother Everett (Kathy) Enabnit, and a sister Isetta Fisher, all of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Leann and a grandson, Richard Wayne Shunkwiler.

Richard A. Enabnit, the son of Everett Enabnit Sr. and Emma (Cunningham) Stevens, was born August 31, 1937, in Clear Lake. On June 12, 1959, he was united in marriage to Patricia Lee in Forest City. The couple lived in Callender until moving to Fort Dodge in 1980. He was employed in the maintenance department at the United States Gypsum for 34 years.

Richard enjoyed fishing, target practice, hunting, bowling, and watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. He especially enjoyed all his grandchildren and loved his family. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3369.

Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
