Dale H. Hanson, 81, entered eternal life June 9, 2007, after a lengthy illness at Tompkins Memorial Health Center, Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Callender, with the Rev. Kent Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Callender Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Callender. Palmer Funeral Home, of Gowrie, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian, of Callender, children Jeanie (Larry) Stout, of Tucson, Ariz., Mark Hanson, of West Des Moines, Marty (Kathy) Hanson, Gowrie, Julie (Kevin) Davis, of Fort Dodge; four grandchildren, Kyle, Greg, Olivia and Jenna. Brothers Chet Hanson, Minneapolis, Minn., Warren (Annette) Hanson, Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Ed (Mary) Hanson, of Algona.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Emma (Peterson) Hanson and brothers Henry, Floyd, and Leo.
Dale H. Hanson was born July 9, 1925, at Callender, Iowa. He graduated from the Somers High School. Dale served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an aircraft mechanic. After farming with his brother Henry for a few years, he married Vivian Lowry on March 1, 1951. Dale and Vivian enjoyed many happy years farming in the Callender area and collecting toy tractor memorabilia. Dale was active in the church and served on the Fire Board.
