Sergeant Bach was one of five RCAF airmen who perished in the crash of Bristol 170 Freighter 31M (#9697) aircraft as it approached the Marville aerodrome at 1(F) Wing, Marville, France, on 30 Dec 1963. His wife, Hazel Mary Bach, and his young son, Donald George Bach, who were passengers on this Bristol Freighter also died in this accident.
