Born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
Son of Michael and Mary Avedisian of Brantford. He attended Central School and Brantford Collegiate and was a member of Central School's Skylark Club.
Sergeant James Avedisian served with the 149 East India (Fortis Nocte) Squadron . His Stirling aircraft R 9161 was shot down while returning from a raid over Saarbrucken, Germany, and crashed near Regniowez, France. The other Canadian in the crew was Flight Sergeant Ernest J. Le Blanc, age 24, from St. Joseph du Moine (near Cheticamp) Inverness County, Cape Breton,, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Commemorated on Page 56 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance.
