S.C. Armstrong is Victim of Death Rites Set Today At Jordan Chapel
Stephen Clayton Armstrong, public accountant & native of Attala County, died at the Montfort Jones Memorial hospital Tuesday afternoon after a year's illness. He was 57.
Armstrong had lived in Forrest City, Ark., for a number of years but had resided with his sister, Mrs. Irving West, in Kosciusko for the past year.
He was the son of the late Robert Ross & Shula Farmer Armstrong, & was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at the Jordan Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. W.M. Jones. Interment will follow at Ellis cemetery in Franklinton, La. with Rev. A.W. Robbins officiating there in the last rites.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Alma Armstrong, Forrest City, Ark.; 2 brothers, Allen Armstrong, Vaiden & Leon Armstrong, Vaiden; 5 sisters, Mrs. Irving West, Kosciusko, Mrs. Gus Branscombe, Indianola; Mrs. Paul Hand, Vaiden; Mrs. Ray Carter, Money.
Palbearers were Ray Carter. Paul Hand, Barney Philley, Clyne Risher, Calton Allen & Luke Aldy.
