Edla H. Brooks

Mattaponi - Edla Hogge Brooks, 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, in her home.

She was a native of Gloucester County and a homemaker.

Mrs. Brooks was a member of Achilles Friends Church.

Survivors include one son, Thomas J. Bunting of Jonesboro, La.; one stepson, Clarence Brooks Sr. of West Point; one stepdaughter, Ruby Ware of Churchview; two sisters, Josie Grimstead of Deltaville, and Dorothy Rigau of Gloucester; one brother, Hersey Hogge of Gloucester; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hogg Funeral Home at Gloucester Point, by the Rev. E. A. Lockwood. Burial will be in Bellamy United Methodist Memorial Cemetery in Gloucester.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Achilles Friends Church Building Fund or West Point Volunteer Rescue Squad.
