He was a Russian actor in theatre and cinema, who was known to indulge in alcohol for some time before his death, and it definitely played a major role in his demise, thought until recently to be the only role. But, there is a new twist to the case. On 27 February, Galkin's body was found inside a rented apartment, and the cause of death was said to be due to cardiac arrest, with large amounts of alcohol involved. However, on 14 July, Galkin's father (Boris Galkin) turned in new evidence to the Russian Militsia, which consists of the fact that $130,000 disappeared from the rented apartment Vladislav died in, and that Vlad had withdrawn a large amount of money from a bank shortly before his death. Vladislav's father is convinced that his son's "friends" had something to do with his death, especially if they knew how much money there were in the apartment.
