Earl "Peanut" Dale Breshears, 80, of Goodson died Saturday, August 1, 2009.
He was born December 30, 1928, in Goodson, the son of Fred Vale Breshears and Emma Catherine Vincent Breshears, and the youngest of five children. He married Shirley Frances Gunderson on September 29, 1950. To this union three children were born, Donna Lynne Breshears Patterson, Earl Dale Breshears Jr., and LuAnn Breshears Smith. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 29, 1000.
He was a baptized member of the Church of Jesus Christ Cross Timbers Restoration Branch. He was active in his church until his recent illness and frequently shared the Lord with his friends and others. He had many hobbies, buying and selling antique glassware and old coins, having yard sales, fishing and going to auctions.
He served his country as a cook in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He lived most of his life on the farm in Goodson, milking Jersey cows, raising Simental cattle and farming. For 42 years he was an over-the-road truck driver, hauling furniture. For 26 of those years, he and Shirley operated Breshears Moving and Storage until their retirement.
Those preceding him in death were his wife, Shirley Breshears, his parents Fred and Emma Breshears; two brothers, Elva Breshears and Glen Breshears; one sister, Evs Hinkle; one son-in-law, Eddie Smith; and one infant grandson, Joshua David Smith.
Services were Tuesday, August 4, in Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes, Bolivar with burial following in Crestview Memorial Gardens, Bolivar.
