Services for Sr Mary Agneta, 90, a retired teacher, counselor and principal for the School Sisters of Notre Dame, were held Thursday. She died Tuesday of congestive heart failure and complications of age at the center.
Sr Agneta, the former Margaret Arendt, was born in Belle Chester, MN and joined the sisterhood in 1901. She taught for more than 55 years in schools in Wisconsin and Michigan. She was a former principal of St. Elizabeth School here and from 1933 to 1947 was counselor and treasurer of the nuns' Milwaukee province.
