Albert Dale Bartlow, 87, of Augusta died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Born Nov. 5, 1915, in Huntsville Township in Schuyler County, he was a son of William Earl and Ruth Haber Tomlinson Bartlow.

He married Bettie Lea Bunnell Nov. 28, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz. She died April 14, 1998.

He was a lifelong farmer. He was a graduate of Augusta High School and attended the University of Illinois in Champaign. He was a member of the United Church of Augusta.

Mr. Bartlow was a World War II United States Army Air Corps veteran. He was a 50-year member of J. L. Anderson Lodge 318 in Augusta and served as a board member of the Augusta School District. He was a director and officer of the Augusta Farmers Co-Op for 46 years and a founder of the Illinois Paint Horse Association. He was widely known in the area as an avid horseman. He enjoyed raising and showing paint horses and going on trail rides at Weinberg-King State Park in Augusta and the cross-country trail rides in Eminence, Mo., for many years.

Survivors include a son, . . . ; a daughter, . . . ; three grandchildren; and a brother, Darwin Bartlow of Huntsville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ila Mae Toland.

Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta by the Rev. Butch Reneker. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta.
