Donna Lynn Abel, 60, of rural Neoga, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, with Pastor Mark Ganner officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery, near Neoga. Memorials may be made to S.I.U. She was born Sept. 8, 1953, in Mattoon, the daughter of Don and Marilyn (Norris) Garlock. Donna married David Abel, March 15, 1975, in Mattoon. She was a retired school bus driver for Neoga District 3, she was also an operator for General Electric and was an Arts and Crafts Coordinator for Camp New Hope.
She leaves her husband, David Abel of rural Neoga; two sons, Brian Abel of Charleston, and Todd Abel and wife Erin of Springfield; two brothers, Mickey Garlock of Champaign, and Randy Garlock and wife Cindy of Mattoon; one sister, Christine Kessler and husband Brad of Stewardson; four grandchildren, Alexis, Gavin, Claire and Katelyn.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents.
