Funeral services for Ernest Anthony, who died March 11 at Newton, were held March 15 from Bybee & Davis funeral home with Robert Sterling and Frank Tyson officiating. Burial was in Pleasantville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Peter Hull, Harold Wilson, Fred Bristow, Edgar Bingston, Arthur Anthony and John Goodlaxson. Hilda Smidt, organist, accompanied Jay Wilson and Ellis Tyson.
Ernest C., son of Ross Allen and Mary Duncan Anthony, was born Oct. 22, 1879 near Sandyville. He was united in marriage to Laura June Reynolds on Nov. 25, 1903 and made their home in Sandyville, later moving to Canada. They returned to the Springdale community near Pleasantville in 1936. He was preceded in death by his wife; one sister, Tessie Anthony and an infant sister; one half-brother, Ross A. Anthony; and three sons, Argyle, George and Mervin.
Surviving are one son, Howard Anthony of Grinnell; one half-sister, Mrs. Beulah Wilson of Indianola; one grandson and one great grandson.
