Albert was born a son of Stanwood and Maude Learned Nelson. Albert passed on atStephens Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He attended Stoneham schools and Bridgton Academy. Albert enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1948 and served in the Air Corp in Panama. On February 22, 1950, he married Eleanor Files also of Stoneham. They lived in Lovell for a short time where he worked at Gerry's Mill. They later moved to Melrose, MA. where he worked delivering fuel for Benson-Goss Fuel Co. In 1961, Albert and Eleanor returned to Stoneham to raise their family. He went to work for Dwight Grover at Grover Lumber Co. and then A. C. Lawrence Co., from which he retired in 1984. In addition to his full time jobs, he also worked building stonewalls, paving driveways, caretaking and carrying on the family tradition of cemetery work. During his retirement he enjoyed selling firewood. He was a member of the Stoneham Volunteer Fire Department and the Stoneham Knight Riders snowmobile club.

Albert enjoyed snowmobiling, family gatherings, especially his annual lobster feeds, his camp in Wilson's Mills, hunting as a young man, time spent with his children and grandchildren and the company of his dogs over the years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor of Stoneham; four children, Sharon Berman and her husband Howard of Belmont, MA., Cheryl Barnard and her husband Paul of Seaford, VA., Albert Nelson, Jr. and his fiancée, Cathy Beaudoin of Stoneham and Dale Nelson and his wife Kitty of Lovell; a sister, Geneva Tripp of Stoneham; 10 grandchildren, Aisha, Jaffer and Nawal Traish, Joshua, Jenna and Lindsey Barnard, Eric and Troy Nelson, Molly and Matthew Nelson; and an aunt Christine Nelson of Winslow. He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Carolyn Heino.
