Mrs. Mary Louise Auten, 49, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 9, 1980 in the Peoria Methodist Hospital following an illness of two years.
She was born Sept. 11, 1930, in St. Mary's Township, Hancock Co., IL to Hugh and Edna Clark Grimes. Mrs. Auten was married Nov. 21, 1964 in Springfield to Gaylen Auten. She was head cook at the Plymouth School for a number of years. She was also co-leader of the Plymouth Girl Scouts until her illness. She received her education at the Colmar and Macomb schools and was a member of the Baptist Church of St. Marys.
Surviving are her husband, Gaylen, of Plymouth, two daughters at home, Luanne Francine and Mary Kathleen (Katie). Also surviving are her two sons, Robert English, of Aurora, IL; and Edward English, Jr. of Medina, OH, her father, Hugh of Boise City, OK, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sat. afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Baptist Church of St. Marys. In charge of the services was Rev. Lon Springer with Rev. Earle Black assisting.
