Mr. Bishop died at his home in Cascades, Washington, at 8:30 on the morning of May 17, 1924, at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 7 days, leaving to survive him his widow and two children, six grand children and three great grandchildren. His daughter, Mr. J.A. McColm, lives at The Dalles, Oregon, and the son, Joseph A. Bishop, resides at Monroe, Louisiana.
A host of friends scattered throughout many states will not only sympathize with the immediate family, but will sorrow with them. Though having lived but about two years at Cascades, he will be affectionately remembered and greatly missed by his former neighbors here.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.C. Lawrence, pastor of the Stevenson Methodist Church, of which Mr. Bishop was a member at the time of his death. Dr. and Mrs. Barber of Stevenson had charge of the singing at the funeral services which were held in the Grange Hall at Cascades, Washington. About 75 persons attended the services and followed the casket to the Cascades cemetery for burial.
