MONDAY, MARCH 4, 1940 DEATH COMES TO LAURA R. ALLEN Funeral Arranged For 10 A. M. Wednesday At Sherwood & Ferguson Chapel

Mrs. Laura Ragsdale Allen, widow of Robert Daily Allen, passed away at 5:30 a.m. today at her home, 1310 Third street, following an illness of two weeks.
A native of Lawrence county, Mrs. Allen was born on a farm near Heltonville to George and Rebecca Woods Ragsdale December 11, 1865.

She was united in marriage with Robert Daily Allen in Lawrence county on February 24, 1884. He preceded her in death May 4, 1939.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Bedford Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Miss Edythe M. Allen, and a son, Clyde E. Allen, both of Bedford, and a brother, Otis Ragsdale, Ames, Iowa. The body was removed to the Sherwood and Ferguson funeral home for burial preparation and will lie in state there after 10 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral, arranged for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sherwood and Ferguson chapel, with the Rev. Elmer C. Norman officiating.

Burial will be made in the Fairview Cemetery.
