Janet Royer-Houston
Janet Lynn Royer-Houston, 47, of Bloomington, died Sunday at her residence.
Born Dec. 9, 1952, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of former Indiana University swim coach Robert Royer and Catherine (Edwards) Royer, former secretary to the late IU president and chancellor Herman B Wells.
She was a riding instructor and a 30-time state champion in fence jumping. In 1996, she was equestrian coach at Indiana University. She taught riding classes throughout the country and was also active in Monroe County 4-H. She attended Bloomington High School South and Indiana University.
Survivors include her husband, Richard John Houston; one son, Robert John Houston of Bloomington; and two daughters, Jennifer Ann Moore and Jessica Rose Houston, both of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Salt Creek Cemetery with Pastor Dan Cloud officiating. Friends may call from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Day Mortuary.
