SUSAN MARIE AMILHAT
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. Joseph Gamache and Cleo Yandow served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by soloists, James and Andrew LaRocque, cousins of Susan, accompanied by pianist, Elaine L'Esperance.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Susan's casket by her daughter, Alice Amilhat, and son-in-law, Major Michael Parent (U.S. Army). The Crucifix was then placed by granddaughter, Alaina Parent. Readings from both The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by cousin, Cari Howrigan. Sisters-in-law, Irene Allen and Elizabeth Root, presented The Offertory Gifts.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from The Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Mary of St. Albans, The Howard Center, Northwest Counseling and Support Services, Northwestern Medical Center, Swanton Village Fire Department and Auxiliary and the Nativity / St. Louis Parish Community.
The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Amilhat family lot in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery with Father Nadeau reading the committal prayers. The bearers were William Mercier Sr., William Mercier Jr., Jason Letourneau, Jeremy Letourneau, Brian Wright and Richard Brady.
