FRANK BERNASKE SR.
Frank Bernasek, son of Joseph Bernasek and Josephine Urbanek was born in Czechoslovakia, Okres, Kralovice, kraj Plzensky, November 28, 1862. He passed away at the Geneva General hospital Wednestday morning, April 16, 1952 at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 18 days.
He with his parents, brother and sister arrived in this country on Good Friday in the year 1879.
November 6, 1883, he was united in marriage to Josephine Fujan. To this union were born eight children, two of whom died in infancy. The family made its home west of Milligan, where they farmed for many years. In 1926, Mr. and Mrs. Bernasek moved to Milligan to spend the remaining years of their lives. His wife preceded him in death June 4, 1942.
He was a member of Lodge Rabi No. 27, and last year was a recipient of a 50 year membership pin.
He leaves to mourn his death three sons, Joe of Ohiowa, Frank of Geneva; James of Milligan, three daughters, Mary (Mrs. Frank Laun) of Tobias, Kristina (Mrso Charles Krupicka) of Milligan, Emma (Mrs. Frank Houser) of Daykin; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons. One grandson , Ervin Bernasek, son of Joseph and Frances Bernasek is in service somewhere in Korea. Other survivors are a brother, Cyril Bernasek of Milligan; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Koca of Milligan, and many relatives and friends.
Services were held from the Milligan auditorium Friday, April 18, at 2 o'clock with Rev. Mr. Mayson of Western officiating. Grandsons were pallbearers.
