ARTESIA--Samuel J. "Sam" Madrid, 43, of Oak Street, died Thursday (Sept. 29, 1994) at home. Services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Artesia, with the Rev. John Curran officiating. Burial will follow at San Marcos Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today; a vigil service begins at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Madrid was born Sept. 23, 1951, in Pecos, Texas. He was divorced and came to Artesia in 1966 from Carlsbad. He had worked as a tire repairman and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Chrch.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Rivas of Artesia; one son, Michael Madrid of Artesia; one daughter, Tracy Madrid of Artesia; and one sister, Julie De La Rosa of Artesia.
