Suggested Edit: Rachel was the wife of John Sides. There are two men named John Sides buried in the Briggs Cemetery who lived about the same time. One of these men died on the same day as Rachel, suggesting that the John Sides who was born April 20, 1808 and died Oct 6, 1857 was her husband. It is interesting, however, that there doesn't seem to be any similarity in their gravestone design.
Only one John Sides can be found on the 1840 & 1850 census living in Brown County, Illinois.
