Notice from The Mountain Echo, Saturday, June 23, 1906, pg. 3 - re marriage to Rosa Sloan:
A Surprise Party at Alba.
Last Monday evening witnessed an impromptu gathering together of about all the residents of Alba District to greet and surprise the newly wedded couple, Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Bishop at their home there. To emphasize and enhance the occasion resort was had to wind, string and other instruments of torture.
The genial hosts were equal to the occasion and with rare good grace threw wide their hospitable doors and entered most joyfully into the spirit of the gathering. Mr. J.N. Walter, as spokesman for the invaders, expressed the well wishes and good feeling of the community for the future happiness and prosperity of the newly wedded couple, which was responded to most feelingly by the groom, Mr. Bishop. Social and neighborly communion, with musical selections by the band and on the organ and guitar, together with refreshments, concluded a most memorable and happy occasion.
[Note: Schooler was married four times and had five children: 1st to Mary Obey, two children; Marion and Olive; 2nd to Ermina Wilson, two children; Ethel and unnamed infant; 3rd to Rosa Sloan, one child, James; and 4th to Georgie L. (maiden name unknown, although I believe she was Georgia Louisa "Georgie" (Jones) Henderson), no children. Georgie was a widow and is listed with Schooler on the 1930 census. She died in 1938.]
