Twyman Bernard Almond, 77, of Evington, died at his home Friday morning, Jan. 7, 2005. He was the husband of the late Alma Newman Almond. Born March 29, 1927, in Appomattox, he was the son of the late Henry C. and Mary Bertha Ferguson Almond. He was retired from NationsBank. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his son, Eric Almond and his wife, Mary Lee of Chesapeake; and his daughter, Karen Arnold and her husband, John of Lynchburg; two grandsons, Brandon and Blake Feagan; and a sister, Virginia A. Smith of Appomattox. In addition, he is survived by his special friends, Wayne and Thelma Wheeling of Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Baptist Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Campbell County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 4123, Lynchburg, VA 24502. Diuguid Funeral Service is assisting the family, 237-2722.
