MELBOURNE, Fla./ SOUTH HERO - William Willard Adams, 73, of Melbourne, Fla. and South Hero, Vt.
Bill was a longtime resident of Essex Junction.
He was born on May 17, 1936, in Barre, Vt.
He is predeceased by his parents, William and Florence (Willard) Adams.
Bill graduated from Burlington High School in 1955.
As a young man he worked on the Ticonderoga while it was still in service on Lake Champlain.
He served in the Merchant Marines and as a Burlington Police Officer.
For a time he owned and operated the Pine Street Variety Store in Burlington.
Bill worked for IBM for over 25 years.
He was a member of both the Shriners and the Elks.
While in Florida he enjoyed his many close friends. Bill felt lucky that many Vermonters made their winter homes close by. He loved golfing, shuffle boarding, playing cards, and watching the Red Sox. He was a diehard democrat.
