MR. FRANK BYRD, SR. was born in
Sunflower County, Mississippi on
September 29, 1929 to the late Mr.
Eddie and Mrs. Ida Byrd.

He confessed faith in Christ in
1980 at the Greater Hind Street
Baptist Church under the leadership
of Rev. E. D. Simpson. He transferred
his membership immediately to Hopewell
Baptist Church where he served as a
faithful and dutiful member of the
Deacon Board and as Assistant
Superintendent of the Sunday School
until his death.

He was united in Holy Matrimony
to Polly Robinson.

Deacon Frank Byrd, Sr. was called
to his eternal rest on Tuesday,
February 28, 1989 at 1:51 A.M. at
University Medical Center, Jackson, MS.

He leaves to cherish his life: a
wife, Mrs. Polly Byrd of Chicago,
Ill; five (5) daughters, Ms. Barbara
Ann Byrd, Ms. Evelyn Byrd, Ms. Cynthia
Byrd, Ms. Gail Byrd all of Chicago,
Ill and Mrs. Maria M. Mapp of Sigonella,
Italy; three (3) sons, Mr. Frank
Byrd, Jr., Mr. Gilbert Brown and
Mr. Gifford Brown all of Greenville,
MS; two (2) sisters, Mrs. Odessa
Crawford of Memphis, TN and Mrs. Annie
Hayes of Miami, FLA; four brothers,
Mr. Samuel Byrd of Memphis, TN,
Mr. Eddie Byrd of Miami, FLA,
Mr. Ahard Byrd and Rev. James Byrd
both of Greenville, MS; nine (9)
grandchildren and a host of relatives
and friends.

Sunflower County, Mississippi on
